Great list, although though I didn’t watch the Adams Family, and I probably would put the Flintstones ahead of the Jetsons. I watched Batman and Gilligan’s Island religiously. I can’t believe you left of the Beverly Hillbillies. I’d say my favorite show from the 60’s has to be Star Trek. It’s the one show (excluding football) that as a kid I watched every week with my dad, so pretty special.
I was in 7th grade when The Addams Family and Munsters debuted. There is absolutely no comparison - The Addams Family is soooo much better. Unfortunately for me, it was on Friday nights and I had to go to dance lessons.
I loved the Dick Van Dyke Show and The Lucy Show and I suspect ratings numbers would support my view that these were in the top five most watched shows of the era.
Batman was a favorite teevee show of mine, though I loved the Giordano reinvention of the mythic character in DC comics in the same years as the adaptation of Bob Kane era Batman for the small screen. I learned during my freshman year of college that this camp parody was the only 'shared text' I had in common with my classmates (see https://www.touchstonemag.com/archives/article.php?id=21-10-028-f for that story).
Great list. I'd add Green Acres which was part of the Beverly Hillbillies universe. Fish out of water theme that broke the fourth wall, had a talking pig, and was hilarious. Also Hogan's Heroes which skewered Nazi Germany only 20 years after the war ended.
Liked all of your picks and the Batman ranking (the show and Adam West) and still watch regularly on weekend mornings on Heroes and Icons digital channel. Hizzonner the Penguin is my favorite episode for all the inside market research jokes (I used to be a researcher). Dick Van Dyke holds up very well, and as a boy growing up in that era, Star Trek and Combat were two more favorites. Very enjoyable read, thanks!
Good list. Mine would have included Get Smart. I still say "Would you believe" or "Missed it by that much" at least once a week.

I just checked (see http://tviv.org/Nielsen_Ratings/Historic/Network_Television_by_Season/1960s and http://www.thetvratingsguide.com/2018/08/1960s-historical-ratings.html) and I'm wrong about DVDS but not about Lucy. Bonanza, a show I never watched, was the surprising kingpin of the era -- surprising to me at least!

Another great post, Liz!

Which Darrin is better?
The 60s were my teen and college years. I think I watched a few episodes of Gilligan’s Island but not a single one of those other shows.
Great post. Our list would have to be The Dick Van Dyke show. Check it out. Great actors and very funny (even today).
Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock Presents

Thanks for a great read. I really enjoyed the Jetsons. Looking forward to your next post.
No Dick Van Dyck? No Andy Griffith? Yikes
Calm down, she literally says that these are her personal favorites, nothing more.
